I have 4 Sonos 1 speakers all connected to the same system. 2 in living room as a stereo pair, 1 in our bedroom and the 4th was in the kitchen. Approx. 12 months ago, the 4th (kitchen) started dropping out and as a result it has not been in use. We have established that there is a couple

of Wi-Fi black spots in our house that virgin are supplying boosters for although not yet received.

I have since moved the speaker to my son’s room, closer to the router than our bedroom and it still doesn’t work and keeps dropping out. I have logged in to our router settings and none of the connections are duplicate IP addresses so this is really frustrating. I have also ran Diagnostics and spent a long time on the phone to Sonos and the problem is still not resolved.
if anyone can offer any further assistance, that would be much appreciated!

obviosuly, I have unplugged and reset all speakers and the router itself as well…

Mother Nature is never fair. We cannot rule out hardware issues with the speaker.

Note that routers will rarely show duplicate IP addresses. The router will show the last address assigned to a device. For whatever reason if a device starts using an address that is a duplicate, the router is not aware of this. If you have “reserved” IP addresses for all regular network clients, the risk of duplicates is much lower. 3rd party network scanners are best for detecting duplicates, but this is not foolproof because the offending device could be offline at the time of scan.

Avoid Factory Reset of any SONOS devices without further consult.

I have spent hours trying to document just what is going wrong with IP addresses, I have failed completely even using some pretty fancy monitoring tools. You won’t see anything from a consumer grade router and even my Netgate ones show nothing.

Swap the dropping speaker with a working speaker, that should provide a clear idea if it is the speaker or the location.

Boosters are often a problem with Sonos due to their limited networking ability. Are you sure you are getting a Booster / Extender or are you getting mesh nodes?
