Why should I buy Sonance ceiling speakers over another brand of the same quality?  What benefits will I get?

Looking to use 1 pair as surrounds when paired with an Arc Ultra and Sub.

The other pair as a stand alone zone in a kitchen.

Also… Sonance makes their own brand of in-ceiling speakers which are not TruePlay compatible. The key wording is “Sonos In-ceiling Speakers by Sonance” or “Sonos Architectural In-Ceiling Speakers by Sonance”.

So if you are on the Sonance Website or 3rd Party websites and the key-wording is not as above then the speakers are not TruePlay compatible.

Edit: A Sonos Amp is required to activate TruePlay.

The Sonance “Made for Sonos” speakers can be Trueplayed.  Any other speakers cannot.

I don't think there is any reason not to go with another brand. The Sonos branded Sonance speakers will allow you to use Trueplay to tune the room, but if that is not a huge factor for you, any speaker will do.
