Sounds like you need to call Sonos Support to discuss it.
When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system. And, if necessary, either offer a replacement, or a discount.

FYI Sonos has replaced OG roams with this issue free of charge for some posters here and Reddit. When you call I would ask about a free replacement.
