Problem connecting Play:1 to new wifi

I have changed the wifi settings in my home, which means that the wifi has changed name.

Now I am trying to connect my Play:1 to my new WiFi.

I can complete all the steps in the Sonos-setup-guide. The Play1-loudspeaker starts to make a sound etc.

In the next window in the setup guide the texts says something like:

“Lets now connect Play:1 to your Wifi: [The name of my WIFI here]

In the next window I enter the password to my WIFI.

I am 100 percent certain, that I enter the correct password. But still I get the message: “An error occurred connecting to [The name of my WIFI here]

Do you know, what might be going wrong? And how I can fix this problem?

Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards
Jakob

Are these the steps you’re trying to follow?

If so, then perhaps reboot the speaker, mobile device and the router too and give it another go, but do not choose to factory reset the speaker, as otherwise you may lose your previous Sonos setup, (including playlists, favourite tracks, music services etc.)

Hi Ken
Thank you very much your answer. I just made an experiment where I connected on of the sonos loud speakers to my router via an ethernet cable and then i was suddenly play music on the loud speakers from my iPhone. Very strange. Do you or somebody else have an idea, what might be going wrong?
Thank in very much in advance.

Yes, when one Sonos device is cabled to the router, it switches the system to run in wired SonosNet mode - see these support links which may help with your understanding here…

I assume you are looking to switchover to a wireless setup - so see the second link above.
