I have a Sonos Beam and two Sonos ones for our TV, the Ones only kick in when music is playing.  How do I get the ones to play all sounds?

Surround speakers or rear speakers are for effects and as such will only “play” when the sound is intended to be behind you. Most sound - dialogue etc accompanies visual cues on-screen. So, most sound will come from the Beam located in front of you. The surround speakers should not “play all sounds”.

I am hearing impaired and really need the sound closer to me.  Is there a way to get the Ones to mimic the beam?

Yes, but…

Rather than have them bonded as surrounds, you could set them as a stereo pair in another room. But, they will have a delay relative to the Beam, so thet may not be an acceptable solution.

Because you can easily reconfigure Sonos devices, try it and see if it works for you. If you need guidance, just ask. Basically, remove surrounds, set the speakers in a new room as a stereo pair, and then group the two rooms.
