With the latest update I was pleasantly surprised that my stereo pairs had individual set for each speaker. When I hit the volume bar a second set of bars appeared that provided the ability to set the each member of the pair. It’s now gone. What happened and how do I get this function back? Thanks.

I have never seen an additional individual volume slider for speakers in a stereo pair.
If you have speakers grouped, the second volume menu will appear for all members in the group after interacting with the main volume slider, or if you have enabled the EQ shortcut, an additional volume menu will appear.
Are you sure the speakers weren’t just grouped previously when you saw this functionality?
What you wrote makes sense. But I never hit or at least knowingly hit an EQ setting. Your explanation makes sense in the regard that I saw each paired unit a separate unit in a group with the numeral 2 superscripted in the speaker icon. But I did not create a group. I am looking through the app to see how I can set EQ for a group. Now frequently I group the stereo pair with a single Roam. I wonder if I set the EQ of that ad hoc group.
You can’t, to my knowledge, set EQ for anything greater than a ‘room’ in the Sonos software. You can set EQ for each ‘room’ in a group, but not the whole group.
If the speaker icon indicated a 2 that confirms two “rooms” were grouped. You may not have intended to create a group and therefore got confused when you thought you were just controlling the stereo pair, when additional volume sliders appeared?!
Haven't gotten the March 31 update yet, is that the one you are using?

+19There has never been the ability to set the volume for individual speakers in a stereo pair. That’s what the Balance setting is for. I have never used EQ, but I guess there is no global EQ setting for grouped rooms; each room has its own EQ settings.
