Line-in to Era 100 disconnects between every record

Question: How do I keep my line-in audio source playing to the entire house while flipping a record instead of having it disconnect from the Sonos group?

I recently switched my turntable (AT-LP60XBT) from a Bluetooth connection to a line-in connection. (After adding a couple more speakers around the house the BT connection was starting to fail and drop speakers off, I assume due to the delay.)

(With the line in 3.5 to USB-C)

When I start a record, the music automatically comes out of my era 100 fine. I then go in the app and select the rest of the house, which plays fine. Almost 100% of the time, when the record stops and needs to be flipped, the audio reverts back to only the Era 100 that the line in is plugged into.
This is complicated by the fact that in the app, the line in is still connected to the entire house (5 speakers) and does not update. So then I force quit the app to reset it, and when first opened, the app seems to come alive and connect to my system fine but does not show any speakers associated with the account for a long long few pauses. Sometimes I force quit the app twice and it finally brings up our system with every speaker spectated again in the app. Then I can select the Era 100 playing the line in source and resend it to the whole house.
Usually the first song on the record is about coming to a close….

I’ve experimented with waiting by the record player and trying to flip the record as fast as possible to beat the system disconnecting.  It does not seem to make a difference. I’ve also tried turning the autoplay toggle on or off. This honestly does not seem to have any effect. Throughout a day of playing records this whole dance becomes an unbelievably frustrating sequence.

any idea how to keep the Line in audio source connected to a Sonos group between record flips?

Have you checked Include Grouped Rooms ?

Maybe try different auto-play settings?

Hi @Stepvhen

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Sorry to hear about the issues you’ve been having with the speakers ungrouping when you flip the record over.

As @Stanley_4 alluded to, I recommend that you disable the Ungroup on Autoplay option in the Era 100’s room settings. Settings icon » [room with Era 100s] » Ungroup on Autoplay » Off.

If an input goes quiet for a while, then restarts, the speaker detects it and goes by it’s own Autoplay settings in deciding what to do - in this case, to ungroup any other speakers.

I hope this helps.

Ungroup on Autoplay is for TV sources only.  The OP is using Era 100’s with a turntable, so the setting is Include Grouped Rooms under Sources > Autoplay.

Thanks @jgatie - I didn’t have anything plugged into Line-In and presumed it was the same option as seen for TV. Thanks for the correction!
