I’m sorry to hear you’re having this issue with your Era 100. 

I’ve had a look at our internal information, but I don’t see any information regarding an issue like this. If your setup is the same as the thread you’ve linked, then I would recommend trying, if possible:

• A different port on your Mac.
• A different Line-In cable.
• Try connecting using Bluetooth.
• Try connecting using Airplay.

If you’re not able to replicate this with Bluetooth and/or Airplay, then it’s likely some setting on the Mac is making connected devices idle or it’s forgetting the device is connected, where a volume adjustment signal will make the Mac remember. You’d want to reach out to Apple support for help on what type of setting would be causing this. If none of the steps work, and as you seem able to replicate this issue, I would recommend submitting a diagnostics within ten minutes of the issue occurring and contacting our support team for further support.
