Era 300s automatically lower volume when bass kicks in?

I just got two Era 300s and a sub for my house, where I host a lot of dance parties. I was super excited by how rich and powerful the sound was when I put volume up all the way, but I noticed it suddenly cut the volume down to 15% on certain tracks when the bass kicked in.

I’m curious if this is a safety feature to keep the speakers from damaging themselves, or if there’s something wrong?

I’m worried it’ll do that in the middle of the parties, but also don’t wanna damage the speakers. Thoughts?

I wouldn’t think it is supposed to do this. I’d probably recreate the issue, then submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes, and call Sonos Support to discuss it.

There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.

When you speak directly to the phone folks, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.

I’d be curious as to what you find out.
