Era 100 won't play using Airplay?

I always play my music through my Windows computer using iTunes or Apple Music, I have a very extensive library.  Last week my Era 100’s stopped playing when using Airplay.  Airplay works on my Roam still, and the Era 100’s work with other connections, just not Airplay.  I tried Airplay through my iPhone, and same issue.   Anybody have a solution to this?

As far as I know it’s definitely a bug of the latest Sonos speakers that come with wifi 6 support. The list of affected devices is:

Era100, Era300, Move2, Arc Ultra

And the problem only exists using Airplay from within Windows iTunes / Apple Music app.
Airplay from Apple devices to the mentioned devices works fine.

Imho the question is what is causing the problem in combination with windows. And it also happens even if you are not using a wifi 6 router.
The Sonos devices are visible as Airplay devices, you can connect to them, audio is playing on iTunes/ Apple Music app but there is no sound on the connected Sonos speaker. Switching Airplay to another Sonos (non wifi 6) device immediately plays audio on the selected speaker.

Huh. That’s interesting. To my knowledge, Sonos has never supported AirPlay 1, only AirPlay 2. The challenging aspect is that AirPlay 2 is supposed to be backwards compatible with AirPlay 1, and there is no way to ‘see’ that I’m aware of which version of AirPlay I’m using, on my Apple devices.

It is compatible, working for years in that way, till the November firmware update, that lets unusable my Sonos era 100. Older products works as usual.

Take them back as not fit for purpose and get a full refund. Maybe when they start getting them all returned, they will think twice about launching future products that are not ready. Sonos obviously don’t care as they already have your money.

I just noticed there is a new firmware posted today (82.3-60160 1/7/2025).  Has anyone by chance try and could confirm if that fixes the AirPlay issue on Era 100?

I’ve had ongoing Mac to Era 100 AirPlay issues.  Unfortunately, this update has not fixed the problem for me.

Same here.  I just ran the update and still no AirPlay from Apple Music app (windows) to Era 100 for me.  Other speakers (One, One SL, Beam) are still working fine with AirPlay.
