Sonos really need to sort out their app. I have a very simple setup: 2 sonos era100 downstairs & 1 roam2 upstairs. App never works smoothly controlling upstairs, downstairs, & whole house. Never works first time when roam2 timed out and reconnect. It's a rubbish app.
Sounds more like a network issue than an app issue. I’d try a simple network refresh, by unplugging / powering off all three speakers, then rebooting your router. Give the router a couple of minutes to reload everything, then plug back in / power on your Sonos speakers. Give them a couple of minutes to reboot, then check for updates in the Sonos controller and apply any you find.finally, do a test and see if you can reproduce this issue.
if you can, which I suspect won’t happen, I would recommend that you submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it. Don’t post the resulting diagnostic number here, they get sensitive about GDPR. If it is an app issue, it should show up in the diagnostic, and give Sonos an opportunity to fix it.
There may be information included in the diagnostic that will help Sonos pinpoint the issue and help you find a solution.
When you speak directly to the Support staff, they have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your network and Sonos system.
