Just left CenturyLink for Spectrum. This fixed the business related issues I was having with upload speed and video conferencing but wrecked my Sonos system’s functionality. I’ve had a perfectly working system supporting 10 different Sonos products throughout my house on CenturyLink for years, bragged about how amazing Sonos was, etc., but now, it’s all just a memory. About half of my Sonos products are constantly dropped from the app, nothing is reliable to the point I have just given up. That effortless quality is gone. I’ve talked with Spectrum support, tried their recommendations but to no avail. From research, seems like a mesh router, in particular eero 6+, may be the answer. Has anyone else had a similar experience and this was the fix?
connectivity on new Spectrum WIFI

In the face of the evidence presented by
You can as
However, my advice in selecting a router is to acquire one that is Wi-Fi 6 or no less than Wi-Fi 5. The Eero mesh is good choice wherein you’ll have a main router connected to the Spectrum modem and 1 or 2 satellites placed in your home to expand Wi-Fi coverage. Things you want to do:
- Unplug all Sonos then setup your router
- Give all bands the same SSID. Preferably the one you were using with Sonos before you switched over to Spectrum.
- Use the same password that Sonos already knows. *
- Disable Airtime Fairness
- Disable any type of “smart” connect wherein the router assigns the Wi-Fi band (2.4Ghz or 5Ghz) let Sonos choose the band.
- Delete the Sonos App from your device
- Connect your device to Wi-Fi
- Re-install the Sonos App
- Plug-in your Sonos and let them come back
- If you are able to use a Wi-Fi “Password” that Sonos is already familiar with select “Join and Existing system
- If not able to follow step #10 you’ll have to factory reset all Sonos and setup a new system
* If you followed instructions in this link you may have to use the password you recently created with Spectrum for Sonos.
