Would like to connect what is playing in the Era 100 Bluetooth speaker (the turntable, a phone) to the rest of the Sonos speaker system, primarily play speakers. Is that possible?
connecting bluetooth speaker to existing system
Sure, you would want to group your Sonos ‘rooms’, as explained here.
Thanks! I did that and I can tell it to play what’s going through the Era100 but it doesn’t broadcast — nothing is playing on the other speakers. Any advice? Is it just hit or miss?
Not sure I understand completely, unfortunately. Let me ask some questions.
Your Era 100 isn’t set up as a surround speaker, is it? If you stream a normal ‘music stream’ (Amazon, Sonos Radio, etc) to the Era 100 speaker, can it group at that point, and have the other speakers play the music stream as well? Essentially, is this issue only showing up when you’re streaming Bluetooth to the speaker? Have you tried a power cycle of the speaker (unplugging it for two minutes, then plugging it back in)? Have you called Sonos Support directly to discuss it?
Also, you’re aware that you can’t use the microphone on the Era 100 to support phone calls, correct? You can stream Bluetooth to it, but the mic information doesn’t get sent to the phone. It’s good for music, it is not good for Zoom like products or phone conversations.
Hi
Welcome to the Sonos Community!
Sorry to hear that you have so far been unable to play a Bluetooth feed to you Era 100 to other Sonos rooms.
To expand a little on the advice
If this is not happening, I recommend you get in touch with our technical support team who have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your Sonos system and what it reports.
I hope this helps.
