Hi, I'm looking into buying the S.M.S.L PL200 MQA-CD Player.  It has optical and coaxial outputs.  will I be able top connect it to one of my Play 5 (Gen 1) speakers?

Use the L/R RCA outputs on the CD player.

You do not need to use the optical or coax out. That will require you to use a converter to convert the signal from optical/coax to analogue. Since the PL200 already has analogue outputs, it would be easier to just use that with a cable like this to connect it to your Play 5.

Thanks. The CD player is working great. I’ve also purchased an Eversolo DMP A6 master gen 2 streamer. I’ve connected the streamer to the cd player via the usb port. However, when I stream music the volume on the Five Speakers is every low. Is there a setting I need to change, or am I better off getting a Sonos port and connecting the cd player and streamer to my system via the port?

I don’t think PORT will be a better solution. Try connecting the CD player to the A6. If you have a second PLAY:5 or another SONOS unit with Line-In, connect the streamer and CD player to separate Line-In’s.

When the cd player is connected to the A6 the volume is really low. I connected the streamer to my other play five speaker. So each speaker has a different line ins.  But when I play the streamer there is no volume. The app says the line in source to the fives is the cd player. I can’t see how to toggle to the second line in which is the streamer? I have the fives set up as a stereo pair
