Can I reverse an S2 to S1 downgrade on Play 1 speakers?

Hi there.

I may have been a little stupid/naieve.

I bought a second-hand pair of Play 1 (S2 compatible) speakers to use on my S1 system.  I downgraded them to S1 and they work very well.

I intended to use the pair with my television headphone jack and a connect but the delay in the system puts the lip sync out by several seconds.

I would like to return the speakers to S2 in order to resell them.  Is this possible and, if so, how might I do it?

Many thanks,

Derek P

If you’re going to resell them, I’d highly recommend that you  factory reset them. So the next owner can choose to connect them to whatever system they want, rather than the speakers looking for your Sonos system.

Follow the prompts in the S1 controller for updating them to S2.

See the FAQ here.

I’ve got my answer thank you.

The now S1 speakers will automatically set up as S2 if connected to an S2 system.
