With setup Era 300 + Ultra Arc have you notice a significant difference (musically speaking) between spotify and apple/amazon music

Apple/Amazon have HD music. In the other hand, not spotify. Although I enjoy the music discovery from Spotify, I wander if it is time to switch to a music provider that has HD music.

Knowing the lossless quality is better, can we actually ear a difference from the compression format offered from Spotify?

Thank you in advance

@Probilla

In the end it depends on your personal preference and hearing capabilities. Sonos speakers are able to play up to 24 bit 48 kHz and imo with some speakers like a Sonos Five you definitely can hear a difference even between 16 bit 44,1 kHz flac hifi quality and 320 kbit mp3 HQ quality. So just speaking for myself I won’t go with anything less than hifi quality.
Next thing I won’t miss is Dolby Atmos music that is supported by Apple Music and Amazon Music Unlimited.
I recommend to try both and compare with Spotify. Take what you’re satisfied more with and not what seems to be better reading the tech specs. 😉

Thank you so much Ralf for your inputs.

Today, I went through Apple music, then Amazon music. Finally I test Tidal. With your suggestions I was able to choose, unexpectedly Tidal. Having many Sonos in different rooms, that's the one making it easier switching.

Then the atmos or even hi-fi of certain songs was just amazing. I could feel the difference from Spotify and enjoy to the full extent Arc Ultra and Era 300

Thanks again

Cheers

I moved from Spotify to Apple Music a few years back, mainly because of the integration of Apple Match (now Apple Library Sync) that enabled me to upload my local library, and ditch the NAS. I used SongShift to port the Spotify playlists to Apple Music playlists.

I see SongShift also supports Tidal, that help help with your ‘upgrade’ from Spotify.
