No, Sonos depends on wifi.

The good news is that Sonos uses their own variant of wifi to send Arc sound to the 300s and the Arc gets the TV information over the HDMI cable so once setup it should work for you for TV.

You can connect the Arc to your router's Ethernet and avoid using wifi to stream.

The controller apps will need wifi to connect but they don't put a lot of demands on it. There too you could use a Windows or Mac controller, wired to your router.

Improving your wifi isn't usually difficult or expensive so I'd look into that if you have issues. Tell us what you have and what is wrong with it for so e usually pretty good suggestions.

@stevemg

What country are you in. I only ask because you mentioned that you were going to try a new modem? Do you own all your network gear Modem and Router. The Modem is just a gateway to the ISP that is supplying your internet. The router is what determines if you have good Wi-Fi coverage.

If it’s the incoming signal provided by your ISP you have three (3) choices:

  1. Upgrade your plan
  2. Change your ISP
  3. Both
