how can i tell which generation of Sonos Five i have. i have the serial number but cant seem to confirm whether its a gen 2 or gen 3

There was a Play:5 gen1 and gen 2. If you have a Five it’s the latest version - but gen 1 of the Five series. 

thanks. but is there a way to look up what generation it is anywhere based on serial number?

@frichmond Post a photo of the front of the speaker and we can tell you which one you have.

Do you have a “Five” or a “Play:5”?

Perhaps this will help:

The Sonos logo on the Five is the same color as the speaker.
The Sonos logo on the Play:5 (Gen 2) is white.
