Speakers

I have upgraded my Sonos to the latest version which includes Airplay 2. In the settings page of the Sonos app it tells me I do not have any compatible Airplay speakers. I have 3 Sonos One speakers, 2 grouped together. Why are these not showing up?

I’ve had my Sonos 5 for probably about 8 years now, and the recent news about “recycle mode” has brought back some of my older worries about buying into Sonos -- that I have this nice speaker, but if Sonos were to go away, it’s a big paperweight. More practically, I’ve brought this speaker to other places from time to time and relied on auto-play mode (where it will auto-play line-in even if it’s offline) but it feels like a hack. It would be really cool if Sonos were to ship these speakers with a physical switch which, when flipped, turned it into a “dumb” speaker that just played whatever came through line-in. It would be a show of good faith that I’ll be able to use this speaker in 50 years, it would improve recyclability, and it would make it easier for me to disconnect it from the network and take it to-go on those rare occasions when that’s useful.

I sold a Sonos Play:1 on ebay however the buyer said it was dented and doesnt work and returned a broken one. Now their is no way this is the same unit but I sent him. I need to prove to ebay the serial number of the returned one isnt the same as what I sent. Now I didnt record the serial number of the unit I sent, is their a way I can find this? Via my sonos app or account or their support or other? Any other suggestions of what I can do?    

I think this is quite a fair comparison because they are both Bluetooth speakers, they are at the same price point ($400), both from big premium sound companies (Sonos & Marshall).  I’m currently testing between those 2 to decide which one will be my main Bluetooth speaker.   I’m leaning toward the Sonos Move because… It has the Sonos ecosystem and WiFi. I’m currently studying aboard, so when I go back to my country (VN), I can use the Sonos Move as a Sonos speaker with my existing speakers that I have in VN It has WiFi so I can use Airplay 2, Spotify Connect, it can work independently without having to use a phone or laptop to stream music to it through Bluetooth. And also the music quality on WiFi is better than Bluetooth The WiFi range on here is pretty strong, I haven’t test the bluetooth range yet so I can’t confirm the range about that. But I’ve test watching video with Bluetooth, everything seems pretty good, there is almost no latency at all even though it doesn’t have 5.0

Can you use Sonos One as an external speaker during iPhone calls?

Hello to everyone. This is my first post. I have recenly added a Play 5 Speaker to my setup. I also have a Play 3, Connect and Bridge. Last night I noticed a quiet hiss coming from my Play 5. The unit had not been playing anything for a few hours. On hearing this I went to my Play 3 which is totally silent. Have I got a faulty unit or is this noise normal. You do have to have your head quite close to the speaker to hear it. Thanks

Hello In this forum there have been countless requests that Sonos produce a less expensive/smaller sub. While the request for a less expensive model may have its merits; IMO smaller size does not. Sonos did an excellent job in designing the current sub that IMO should check all the boxes for the audience in this forum and those outside of it looking for good low-end with music (without sounding muddy or booming) and enhanced LFE for movies_that don’t overpower. If one thinks about it designing a proper sub is probably more involved than designing a speaker. Speakers are generally front firing with no need to consider phase control as with a sub. Speakers are meant to be heard; and it’s not a sin for your ears to determine from where the sound is originating. Subs on the other hand are intended to disappear. If you can pinpoint where the low-end is coming from then that sub is poorly designed and quite frankly a piece of junk. Granted if you are standing on top of

One of my Play5's quit working while playing and the light is out. I rebooted the system, unplugged and re-plugged. I even swapped locations and chords with my other Play5 that is still working. No dice. Light is out. I think it is broken. Please help.

I have a Roku TV, can I set up sound to come from my Sonos Move or do I need something else?

how to connect Sony tv x95g to Sonos play 5 via airplay?

Hi all, sorry if this has come up before. I’m trying to get my Sonos ones to connect via airplay to my Apple TV 4K. It finds them ok, however everytime I try to connect it fails. Does anybody have any help as to if I’m missing something somewhere. How can I be sure the Sonos ones are actually AirPlay 2   thanks

My Sonos app indicates the music is playing but no sound out of speakers. My wife recently used her IPad to play speakers - she’s on a trip with the IPad and speakers haven’t worked since. I’ve unplugged router and speakers and hasn’t fixed the issue.

My toddler put a toy down the sub, when trying to remove it I’ve accidentally pushed it further in. Unfortunately it’s too big to drop down on its own. Does anyone know of an authorized repair center in Melbourne or how to take the sub apart?

Hi, My son have put a toy in the Sonos subwoofer. You can hear it “rattle” when subwoofer is playing. I have tried to turn the subwoofer around to get the toy to fall out but it seems like it is stuck inside. Is there any way to open the subwoofer to get it out?   /an annoyed dad...

Looking for any recommendations for a ac 45W USB-C for the sonos move. I've already tried a couple and they do not work. My mobile phone charger, the 1 out my power bank and (I just bought 1 from amazon also nothing.. They all work fine while charging my mobile phone.

I was shocked and disgusted to find a whole colony of ants living in my Sonos one, in my living room. Don’t know what to do. When I lifted the speaker after seeing the trail of ants around it, these white little beads fell out of the speaker. My hand was also immediately infested with hundreds of ants. Not only am I traumatized, but I have no idea what to do to get them out and save my speaker. 

Hi, using iPad and iPhone. Is it possible to run Sonos Move via airplay on Sonos Port own wifi? Sonos Port is connected to a router with wifi with ethernet cable and sonos move is using the routers wifi not Sonos wifi. Having trouble with neighbours having fun with the balance and pause buttons. Very anoying.    i am looking for a way to use Sonos Move only on or in the sonos net 2.0 network? Is it possible?    It may also be that my iPad OS and IOS is hacked,. They paused my Sonos Port yesterday while only using Sonos port. Coaxial out to an amplifier. I have named my two Sonos Move speakers Dining Room IN Norwegian. There is a kitchen room in my airplay devices at the at the shut down screen with time and date and log in screen. Choose output device option after song title. Ios ipad os log in screen.That is not one of my rooms (kitchen). They may have a duplicate of my Sonos system. 

Hi, My Move is scheduled for delivery today, can't wait! I will be putting it in my home office when not in use, and it will only be used several times a month. (We have other Sonos speakers throughout the house that we use daily). When not in use, while on the base, is it better to leave the Move powered ON in standby mode? Or should I power it OFF when not in use? It will be on the charging base when not in use. My concern is will leaving it in standby mode for days on end (while on the charger) deplete the battery quicker? Any advice, guidance? thanks

My Move is destined to be used on my Deck (weather permitting), but it’s “home” location (for storage and charging), is in the nearest room- the kitchen. Where there is already an ECHO there.  I don’t want both devices to answer… I am not seeing any way to mute the MOVE’s microphone.   The ECHO needs to stay where it is cause the MOVE will not be there all the time and the ECHO is the most utilized Alexa device… Is the only option to disable MOVE voice control in the SONOS APP?  That really means I need to have my APP with me when I take the MOVE… and then - why do I need Alexa at all?  

Hey There! I am wondering about the best solution to provide good quality music at the location where i will marry. I own a Sonos System, so there is of course the thought of using some of those Speakers, as i am very content with it’s quality. Here are my Speakers: Playbar, 2 Sonos one in Stereo, Sonos Sub (Living Room TV-Setup) Sonos One (Bathroom) Play 5 (Bedroom) Play 5, Sonos One (Office) I was thinking about buying 2-3 Sonos Move, but after some research i am pretty sure you can’t use them together over bluetooth(?). I am pretty sure, that one Move won’t be enough for the location, so i thought about setting up a WiFi, to use my already existing Play 5 and some Ones. Would it be possible to set them up at a different location using a phone hotspot and then controlling them with another phone which is also connected to the phone hotspot? Did i miss something and there would be a solution which is a lot more practical for such a one time event? i am really open for new suggestions,
