This is not a full windows 8 platform but will work new surface tablet and Samsung and others plan to use this OS which is not fully windows 8 compatible. It would be very helpful if sonos would support this as the tablet looks promising.

I really like my Echo but it is limited - needs more apps.... I really, really hope (really, really, really) a Sonos app becomes available for the Echo - I would add another one no problem. I love my Sonos - and normally I dislike voice control but Echo is far superior to others. So let's keep our fingers crossed.

Hey all, So, I am trying to do something relatively simple here. I want to put a "max" volume limit on a particular zone. I have an outdoor setup and I'd like to be mindful of my surroundings. It's about 2000 square feet of space and I have 6 speakers out there connected to two zones. I used an outdoor volume dial (can't find the link at the moment) for a while and it worked wonderfully. I'm looking to buy a Sonos sound system for under $1000.  I have one large room and want to fill it with rich sound.  I'm thinking a pair of play 1's and one play 5 but can you do that?

Got really excited when I saw support for multiple..... thinking it would be music libraries. But no, the system still can't handle multiple users / music libraries, and STILL doesn't search Contributing Artists (unlike Andronos on Android and SonoPad / Sonophone on iPad and iPhone. C'mob Sonos, get it sorted. Really and truthfully, how hard can it be?

One of my zones uses a Connect and a 2 channels of a Emotiva UPA-7 power amp to drive NHT Absolute Zero speakers and 10d Sub. The other 5 channels of the UPA-7 are driving my HT 5.1 setup and triggered by the Denon 3312-CI. How can I trigger the UPA-7 when using the Connect zone?

I want to connect a speaker to both left and right channels as mono.

Quite simple, lets get some numbers on all the chatter thats flying around. In order that Sonos can gauge some meaningful feedback please reply to this thread with your supporting opinions for your choice. I voted NO as I believe the perception that has been given and supported is that we, the users, will get our idea's turned into tweaks/new features/upgrades etc. through the Sound Idea's forum. Given that the fact that the last two updates have had very few changes to the system (i.e. Not new services) I fear that the focus on this may have drifted. I understand the current world economic situation means that luxury products suchs as Sonos will be put aside for essential purchase and that Sonos will and must look to increase it's user base to survive doesnt mean that we, as existing users cannot express our dissapointment at this shift. How much do I really need to worry about steam/moisture/humidity in an en-suite bathroom? I'm planning on setting up speakers in this area and don't know which ones to get. I want a good quality sound and hate ceiling speakers so I'd plan for them to be at the top of the wall at ceiling height. Would the hot shower kill my speakers? There is an extractor fan that clears the room of steam fairly well, but during a shower I get a layer of condensation on all the tiles and the window. It's no winter yet. Thoughts?

This topic has been beat to death on this forum. I am hoping this thread generates enough interest to at least peak the interest of the money makers at Sonos and hopefully this or a version of it is put into production. A "Zone Player Pro" would be Ampless and have One (1) Coax and One (1) Optical Digital Outputs in a standard 17" Audio/HT component case. Forget any and all other requests, for now, such as rackmount, color, additional features, or a Price Reduction. Lets assume it will cost the same as the current Zone player $499, anything less would be a bonus. Simply put, do you want and would you purchase a "Zone Player Pro".

does anybody know a program that extracts the cover image(s) out of mp3s? I tagged my whole mp3 collection with all the covers within iTunes. Most of them where drag/dropped directly from the webbrowser (images.google.com); so no separate images have been saved. now I would like to have the covers also as separate jpg, gif or whatever is emedded in the mp3 files.
