How can I reduce the volume of the confirmation messages from SONOS when using voice command or switch off these confirmations completely? This is completely unacceptable or unusable as it is now.

Hi @Schweizerhörer

Welcome to the Sonos Community!

Sorry to hear of this issue you have been having with Google Assistant’s voice being too loud as compared to playing content.

We are aware of this issue affecting Alexa and I have asked for the scope of the issue to be expanded to include Google Assistant too. We do not have an estimate for when this might be resolved, but I will update this thread when I hear of it.

I am not sure about Google Assistant, but I know that there is an option in Alexa’s settings to minimise the amount of verbal output from the assistant - if there is such an option for Google Assistant too, it will be in the Google Home app’s settings (and not the in the Sonos app’s).

I hope this helps.

Thank you for your feedback. I apologize for not being completely precise in my description. By Voice Command, I of course mean the “SONOS” Voice Command, not Google and not Alexa. Just SONOS.
How can I reduce the volume of these confirmation messages or switch them off completely?
Thank you very much.

Hi @Schweizerhörer

Apologies for the misunderstanding - perhaps it was me or one of my colleagues who put this thread in the Google Assistant category and not yourself.

In that case, there are no such settings for Sonos Voice Control, but I will convert this thread into a feature request for there to be more control available.

Regardless, we are aware of this issue affecting voice assistant comparative volumes and aim to resolve it soon.

I hope this helps.

Thank you. I can of course accept the explanations. But I am quite disappointed that such a technically, qualitatively and pricewise high quality product has such bugs. Hardly anyone will be able to make friends with the SONOS Voice command function if there is this defect with the much too loud command confirmations. It is simply unusable. In other words, a function that is promised to customers.
I hope that this probably minor issue will be fixed quickly!

Any update on when this will be fixed? This should be a bug fix to match the audio to the volume of the speaker prior to adding different controls. The bug fix should be prioritised as this is an awful user experience and has been an issue for over a month now.

As the original author said - this is a premium product and I’d expect the support and bug fixes to be a bit more timely.

Hi @djjavo

I don’t have access to information about the progress of bug fixing, and if I did, I would not be permitted to share it - we do not give out estimates in case we are not able to meet them. Please be assured that we are looking into this issue with priority, however.

I hope this helps.

Hi @Corry P

Please do not take this as aimed at yourself but I’m not assured that Sonos are looking into this issue as a priority. From the other comments and posts, it is clear that this issue has been present for some time

The thread below describes similar issues and was posted a year ago!

How can we as customers be reassured in the brand if these issues just persist?

Hi @djjavo

To be clear, the issue has reappeared - it has not been this way constantly for that entire year.

I don’t know why the issue has reappeared, but it will be a priority for us to fix it - why would it not be? It’s annoying, and we are aware of that fact.
