Connecting Ray to PC via optical cable - So close but yet so far.

I have a Ray connected to my PC via optical cable. After a bit of initial hassle, I changed my source and everything worked. Then, for no reason I can see, it stopped working and now nothing I do can get it to work again. As I said, I’m connected to the Ray via optical output on a Realtek Digital Output. I can see audio playing on my device, I’ve replaced the optical cable and tried every combination of setup. I’ve now run out of ideas and had to go back to my £25 soundbar that’s sitting on top of the now useless Ray.

I’ve also been through this article methodically and now I’ve run out of ideas. Can anyone help me?

What sound format are you outputting to the Ray?

Also, in addition to making sure your PC is outputting audio to the Ray (via your Realtek I guess), make sure you set the source in the Sonos app to be TV.  I get the feeling you listened to a different source (airplay or streaming service via the Ray itself) and have not manually set it back to TV source, or have settings to auto switch to the source.
