Schedule night mode

Please give us the ability to schedule when night mode should be on and off.
It’s very easy to forget turning it off the day after use. I had it on a few weeks by mistake before realizing it and people were unimpressed by the sound of my Beam.

We absolutely appreciate the recommendations for scheduling night mode within the Sonos system. Although I cannot say if this request will be implemented into the future builds of Sonos, I am happy to make a request, and reach out to the proper channels within Sonos.

 

Feel free to let us know of any other feature requests you may have for we rely on this feedback to make Sonos a more intuitive system!

My workaround for this involves SmartThings, WebCoRE and node-sonos-http-api (although the main part of the sonos-http-api as the scheduling can be done using anything that supports getting a URL).

 

Basically each night at say 8pm I have a WebCoRE piston that calls the URL to turn on Night Mode on the PlayBar, then each morning the same piston will call the URL to turn Night Mode off.

 

URL looks like this (in the example below the server running ‘node-sonos-http-api’ has the IP 10.0.0.2 and the room with the PlayBar is called ‘Living Room’:

“http://10.0.0.2:5005/living room/nightmode/on”

 

Below is the link to the node-sonos-http-api bridge, it does require some command line knowledge - however there are plenty of tutorials and it is a very powerful tool for integrating Sonos into the Smart Home (other examples I use is a command to un-group all rooms at 3am, set the volume to default and group rooms based on triggers such as motion):

The earliest feedback of the same topic was created almost 5 years ago.

Thats ancient.

This is very disappointing to read the threads on the same feedbacks on just a very simple item, give us a schedule to turn on night mode.

We hope to see the topic close off for good.

Its bewildering what a big company like yours is unable to fulfil a simple request.

I was hoping so bad it would be included in the S2 app. But alas. C'mon Sonos. Your customers have been asking for this for ages. I now sit with my system on night mode for 90% of the time against my will as I either forget about it, or I do not want to keep on switching it.

I wish this was in the s2 app, would be a nice feature. Please Sonos add it in the near future.


Is this what it means to be the premier premium smart speaker? Ignore the pleas for basic functionality that actually makes the smart speakers usable at night? Very disappointed Sonos!!!! This cannot be that hard to implement, considering every single competitor, even the ones costing a fraction of cheapest Sonos, have had it for years.

This needs to happen. There are so many threads with overwhelming request for this basic feature. Listen to your customers or loose them. It’s that simple.

My #1 complaint about my Sonos system. Half the time the TV in our family room is on night mode because I’m an insomniac. 
 

if a schedule is too much to ask, could you possibly have the indicator light on the speakers change color so we know might mode is on?
