how to re configure existing stereo pair for surround sound (play 3)

I have a pair of play 3’s set up as stereo pair in a separate room. I want to reconfigure them as surround sound speakers in conjunction with my playbar/sub pair.   Not sure how to do this…

Hi. 

In the settings for the stereo pair, separate the pair.​​​​​​​

In the settings for the Playbar, select ‘add surrounds’ and follow the prompts.
