Sub next to Air/Heat vent?

The best location for our Sonos Sub is on the ground right next to our forced air vent that delivers air conditioning and heat. I'm a little hesitant to place it there though, with fears that it will get damaged. Does anyone know if my concerns are valid?

Thanks!

According to the product guide:
Operating Temperature 32°F to 104°F (0°C to 40°C)

I doubt your air conditioning would be set to 'Arctic', but the hot air direct from the heating system could well be a touch warm for it. Measure the temperature.

And Sonos does make a nice wall mount so you could elevate it above the vent, should you feel the need.

They make a variety of air deflectors for vents, designed to go under couches and the like or you could knock something together out of craftboard and tape that would do the job.
