TV Video/Arc Audio

Living Room contains Amp/in-ceiling speakers, Sub & Arc via HDMI (eArc/Arc). Is there a setting so I can watch TV video & have Sonos audio playing?

Have same setting question for Beam (eArc/Arc) configuration.

Can’t find product versions, but system was installed May 2023.

Thanks

I’m confused. The video showing on your TV screen doesn’t come from the Arc or Beam, it comes to various inputs (usually HDMI) on your TV set. The TV set normally sends any sound signal out to the Sonos device through the ARC connection. You shouldn’t normally be ever selecting the HDMI connection on the TV that connects the Sonos. That’s an automatic output from the CEC computer on the TV.

Just use the controller to switch from the TV input to a different (presumably music) stream. The default is to auto switch to the TV input, in the controller, but if desired, that can be turned off.

Used my TV controller to switch TV input from HDMI3 (eArc/Arc) to YouTube TV (video stream, not music). Then used Sonos app to select my audio source & achieved goal (TV video, sonos audio)  :)

I reversed the steps & have some issues. On the Arc setup, when I select TV input back to HDMI3 (eArc/Arc) I get a Sonos graphic, but no TV video. I put TV input back to YouTubeTV, then used Sonos app (Your system, your sources, TV) to get TV audio. Problem - I can only control TV volume via Sonos app & not the TV remote! Any suggestions?

On Beam, similar, when I select TV input back to HDMI3 (eArc/Arc) I get a Sonos graphic, but no TV video. I put TV input back to YouTubeTV, then used Sonos app (Your system, your sources, TV) to get TV audio. On Beam however, when I turn on TV, get message “switching to TV speakers” followed by “switching to audio system” & all is good, TV & audio thru Beam &  TV remote volume control works fine. So really just annoying messages.

I appreciate any insight you might have to getting TV input back to HDMI input (which I suspect is the issue). Thanks again
