Apple Music doesn’t seem to update correctly on the Sonos App.

Hello,

For exemple, I created a new playlist in the App Apple Music and I can’t see it in Sonos app.
Another problem, newly added songs in my library Apple Music app don’t appear in the recently added section in Sonos app. Neither do they appear to be in my library in the research section.

It seems to me that this problem started this morning.

Are others experiencing the same thing ?

Apple Music has always had a delay when syncing changes between their databases. (Why they have a separate database instead of just a gateway from one system to the other I can’t comprehend).

Just found out that I was having the same issue on Apple Music Web Player. So, this is not a Sonos problem.

While I’m sorry to hear about your issue, I’m relieved to hear it’s not just me. I’ve had a ticket open with Apple for this for over a month.

I takes almost exactly 3 days for a new playlist to show up in Apple Music for the web. They show up instantly on all iOS and MacOS devices, the 3 day lag is ONLY on AM for Web (and because of that, Spotify).

Adding new content to an existing playlist? Shows up immediately. Deleting a playlist? Also immediate. It’s literally just adding a new playlist that has this lag.

I strongly encourage you to open a bug report with Apple. In the meantime, as a stupid workaround, I’ve created a “Placeholder” playlist that I use when I want to listen to a new playlist on Sonos via AM. I copy the contents of the new playlist to “Placeholder” and I can access it immediately on Sonos there. Yes, it’s stupid. But it works.

PS - I had created a new AM account to repro this and couldn’t, so it’s specific to something about the contents of my library. Out of curiosity, how many songs do you have in your AM library?

SONOS. Not Spotify. Sorry about that.

Hello,

I am new to Sonos and Apple Music. So I only have 600 songs in my library.
For the last 10 days, I have mostly used Airplay since I bought Marvis pro app which gives me a wonderful control over Apple Music.

I now use Sonos App mostly for my instrumentals playlist which I listen to when reading. Hopefully, the next big update of iOS will allow Dolby Atmos with Airplay 2.

I do similar. I have a AM playlist called ‘Sonos’, I can add other AM playlists to this playlist, which is a Sonos favourite on home screen. I use this method for instant access, eg Shazam it to AM ‘Sonos’ playlist, and instantly available on Sonos. I can later edit/curate AM playlists. I don’t think its stupid 😀

I was curious, I just did a test, no delay today was instant with the new S2 App with content from AM:

  1. logged into music.apple.com
  2. created test playlist in AM on iOS
  3. shift refresh on music.apple.com and playlist appeared
  4. logged into play.sonos.com, playlist present
  5. opened Sonos App on iOS, and playlist was present

There could be delay if the playlist contains content that you have uploaded to AM, ie not available on Apple Music, as that could be on what was previously the iTunes Match service? I’ll do another test if I get time.
