connecting amp to sonos network

Forum|alt.badge.img

I recently set up a record player with a Mcintosh MA252 amp and 2 speakers.  Can a PORT connect this system to my Sonos network?

The McIntosh does not seem to have an out - is only has inputs? So a direct connection between Port and McIntosh does not seem possible. You could connect the turntable to the Port (be aware the Port needs a line level connection so a preamp is needed) and the Port to the amp. Not sure you’d be looking for such an option on such a high end amp though.

@kev11ryan

To just input audio from your amp to the Sonos system any Sonos device with the analogue input option could do the job.
But if you also would like to play Sonos content on your amps speakers or even want to play amps audio sources synchronized at the same time on Sonos rooms and your amps speakers, then of course a Sonos port is necessary and the amp should have a pre out or rec selector to get synced playback.

@106rallye I think you’re right.   It didn’t seem there was any output beyond the 4 or 8ohm speakers.
