Music does not start when using Google Assistant

I have setup Google Assistance and when I ask to play music from e.g. Spotify Google confirm and say it will start playing. Nothing happens. This goes for all my Sonos devices. I tried to remove Google Assistant and set it up again. Same result. I can ask Google Assistance for other things like the weather and then it works. I am running the latest version of the app and all devices are updated. All worked fine until maybe a week ago. What to do?

There is currently a fault with Google Voice Assistant. If you scroll down these posts you’ll see a “view real-time service status” link.
