Hi, Everybody! 🔊

December is halfway done, and we are out with another small update to make things even better for the holidays. This release includes specific fixes affecting Era, Move 2, and Arc Ultra, which is why you will see these players on a different software version than the rest of your speakers.

Here’s the rundown of the update:

App Update

Software version:

  • iOS: 80.35.8
  • Android: 80.35.4

In the update

  • Rounded corners on album art
  • Fixes related to Line-In settings
  • Other bug fixes and performance improvements

Player update

Software version:

  • Era 100, Era 100 Pro, Era 300, Move 2, Arc Ultra: 92.0-72090
  • Modern Players: 92.0-71170
  • Legacy Players: 86.2-70230

In the update:

  • Resolved an issue where Music Library content failed to play on one or more products when shared from a NAS.
    • Note: This fix only applies to Era 100, Era 100 Pro, Era 300, Move 2, and Arc Ultra.

You can find our Release Notes page for previous app updates here and our player updates here.

As always, we welcome your questions, comments or feedback. Your input is crucial in helping us raise the bar with each release, and we appreciate everything you have to share. Many thanks! 🙏🏼

Unfortunately yet another update that fails to restore the basic function of saving the queue as a playlist. I wonder how many users would prioritise rounded corners on album art over the restoration of key pre May 2024 functionality?

Why is it that my era300's (not this time but sub 4 too) always need separating from my surround set up before they will take the update?

That is odd, next update get the issue, submit a diagnostic, CALL Sonos support.

My Arc Ultra, 100s and Sub 4 took the update as did my 300 Pair, not quite your setup though.

Still not seeing this in this update, supposedly from the previous update to the android app:

For Android: Albums can now be grouped by Compilations or Album Artist (or left ungrouped), and folders can be sorted by Song Name, Song Number, or File Name.

I’m pretty sure they have updated, but the App is not reporting they have. Next time when you apply system update and it says its ‘failed’ force close the App, and then restart App 10 minutes later, I’m pretty sure bonded devices will have updated.

The reason for this is the way surrounds and/or sub are bonded to the soundbar, and some network equipment will detect as ARP ‘spoof’ on network (2 different MAC addresses with same IP address) and block traffic for a short period.

@craigski Will definitely check this next time.

Shouldn't be getting ARP issues though, each speaker does have a reserved IP. Although bonded satellites are never normally online to the main network I guess they may expose through the Ultra (?).

Also, Trueplay on Android for Ultra/300/Sub4 surround set is still not working...

While I'm at it, no fix for iPlayer streams showing program graphic either. The station graphic is OK when paused but a playing program just shows default note icon.

Other apps like Ikea, Phonos and windows desktop show the program graphic OK...

I don’t know which version you have but mine (latest) for iOS works fine saving the queue as a playlist. I just tried it a couple of minutes ago.

Mine is also latest iOS version, but the only options available for my queue are Shuffle, Repeat, or Delete. I can save individual tracks to a playlist by selecting the three dots, but nothing to save the entire queue.

My bad. I was “cheating” by putting an entire album in the queue and then selecting “Save to Sonos Favorites.” That works but, as you say, the other doesn’t.

Dave, I did find a way to do it but I used the Sonos app for Windows to do it. After creating the queue, click on Save Queue and this comes up:

Then you can save it to a playlist. Of course this is a workaround. 😏

Saving the queue as a playlist has always been available from the desktop apps. It is the mobile apps that have been missing the feature for the past 19mths.

Thanks. Didn’t know that.

Thanks all, so it seems the wait for saving the queue from the mobile App goes on. Let’s hope Sonos, in its infinite wisdom, doesn’t remove this feature from the Windows App anytime soon.
