New Player and App Update Available! Sept '25🔊

Related content:Software

🗣️ Hi Everyone 🔊

This morning, we deployed an update for iOS and Android as well as a small patch to our firmware (Player). See below for a run down of what's changed. If you'd like a look at what has changed over the last few months, check out our App Release Notes here, as well as our System (Player) Release Notes here.

As with most updates, this will be a Phased Rollout, which means that you may (or may not) get the update pushed to your system. Some iOS users have sidestepped this in the past, by going directly to the App Store. If you still do not see the update, try refreshing the App Store by pulling down (as if you were refreshing a page) on the Account page that shows all your pending app updates.

In the App update:

Android & iOS - 80.27.6

  • Fast Scroll in Queue for iOS
    • You can now fast scroll in the queue, and opening the queue will jump to the track that is currently playing.
  • Group Volume sync with haptic feedback.
    • Want to have all your rooms at the same volume level? Move the group volume all the way to the left, wait for a small buzz, now all your rooms will follow the group volume.

Once you have updated the app, you will be required to update the system (Players).

In the Player update:

Firmware - 90.0-68140

  • Fix for unexpected increase in bass output
  • Fix for Trueplay tuning failing on Arc Ultra with Sub or surrounds.

As always please do not hesitate to share your feedback (about the new Group Volume sync, or anything really), myself and the team genuinely appreciate it! 🙏🏽

Because that was the only way of connecting them as a pair.  Each speaker was playing the same song but the right speaker was behind the left speaker. Same song with a slight time delay.  I never had this issue with the S1 which I had for years. I was gifted the S2s when they first came out.  After the warranty was up, the right speaker died. Sonos replaced it.  I have had this issue since the speaker was replaced. Tech support is totally useless.

Sounds like you certainly had an odd issue, but not one I’ve ever experienced.

If you’re interested in resolving it, give this community more information about the setup. If you’re just interested in sharing your feelings, then you have. And either way, I’m sorry you’ve been struggling.

I see the latest app and system updates today have extensive changelogs of “Bug fixes and improved performance”.

Come on, Sonos. It must do something specific!

One thing it doesn’t do is allow you to save the queue as a new playlist. I’m starting to think it will never coming back. Ditto for reverting to playing the loaded queue after listening to a radio station or TV.

Probably time to move on from here as your Sonos get the next update that is rolling out now.

I share the view that these two features aren’t likely to return (though I’d be happy to be proven wrong). Still, it’s difficult not to question why, after 18 months, they’ve been either unable or unwilling to restore them. The continued silence only makes their lack of explanation more frustrating.
