Hello everyone! 🔊

Earlier today, we deployed an update for the Sonos App on iOS, Android, as well as a firmware update for our Players and  Ace. This update is minor and mainly includes some bug fixes for Spotify.

If you are interested in what has changed over the last few months, check out our App Release Notes here, as well as our System (Player) Release Notes here.

Once again, this will be a phased rollout. You might have the update ready and waiting for you in the app store, or you may need to be patient until it becomes available to you.

These are the version numbers:

  • iOS - 80.32.35

  • Android - 80.32.32

  • Modern Players - 92.0-70280

  • Legacy Players - 86.2-70230

  • Ace - 3.9.9

Feel free to share your feedback, it is much appreciated as always!

Aside from an unlisted error message for one of my Gen 1 Beams the firmware update went well. Brain is not doing well, it was 25 or 27 but I didn't get a screenshot as a backup.

No app update available here yet.

The last two firmware updates have failed on my surround - Ultra, Era 300's and Sub4 - setup. The ultra updates OK but the Era 300 and Sub4 updates fail, consistently. I  have had to remove them from the surround setup, update them and then add them back to the surround setup. When removed from the surround setup, the update works perfectly 🤷🏼‍♂️

Also, after the last two updates, Trueplay (Android), which has always failed - known issue - partially completes ONCE but then fails at the last step, after the tones have completed and it is being 'saved (?)'. After this it will not start (no tones played) and continues to consistently fail ☹️

Updated my App (iOS) and the speakers, which took about 5 minutes, updated without any problems. (Ultra-Era300-Sub4)

Have not experienced, seen or heard any changes.

Yep, used to be fine for me too, just the last 2 firmware updates. No network/location/setup/anything else changes anywhere on my side either 🤔

Does anyone know what the differences are between iOS releases 80.32.35 and 80.32.36, both released yesterday?

FWIW, 80.32.36 is not listed on the update web information here

Previous system update 91.0.70070 for modern players also not listed in release notes.

Seems (public?) release notes are not always produced for system and App releases and if they are, not always worth effort in writing and publishing if they just say ‘bug fixes’

ANDROID 80.32.32

Updated smoothly. No issues with paid subscription, local library or connectivity. Works well.

Only two small reinstatements in respect of local library would be good... see below.

Still no hd/ hi-res banners when playing from local library.

2 or 3 updates ago lost thumbnails on queues from local library on phone. Still not visible.
