 I don’t have any controls on my Songs screen ( IOS up to date ).  If I hold down on Music Library - Songs the only option is Play Now.

The iOS S2 app doesn’t have them. But the android S2 controller does. It has the Play and Shuffle buttons at the top of the Songs list.

Thanks both.  I think you’ve identified what’s going on here.  MoPac is right  - there is no shuffle / play on the Songs screen.  All you can do is Play Now.  Once the song queue is playing, then you can shuffle (using the buttons MoPac highlighted in his earlier post).   This is what I’m doing to get a random playlist.

But as kdowling has highlighted, Android S2 users can do this direct from the Songs list.  Lucky them !!!

one day for iOS users, maybe……

Some retro info btw… 😉

Old S2 app for iOS definitely had a Play and Shuffle button on top of songs list.
So come on Sonos… do it again! 😎

And don’t hit me… yes, there‘s a cover disaster on my library. 😂

Thanks Schlumpf……..and I suffer with that library cover disaster as well!!!!  Iterations of iTunes  and OS updates over the years have scrambled my library 🤦‍♂️……but strangely not in all applications 🤷‍♂️!

How in the living eff have you not fixed the Sonos Ace being too loud at the minimum volume setting yet? I’m so freaking sick of Sonos.

@Schlumpf

 Embed the album art file Connells: ‘74 - ‘75 in the tag and see if it then shows after an index.  Unless, of course, that was already done.

Thanks for advice… the problem is not „to know how“, it’s motivation to do it. 😉

 I get that.  When my tagging was not up to speed I would fix just a few each time I had some free time.  No way was I going to tackle it all at once.  I do like to see the album art when playing an album.
