Latest Software Update - Mid September '25

Related content:SoftwarePartner

šŸ—£ļø Hi Everyone šŸ”Š

Ā

This afternoon, we deployed an update forĀ iOSĀ andĀ AndroidĀ as well as an updateĀ to our firmware (Player). See below for a rundown of what's changed. If you'd like a look at what has changed over the last few months, check out our App Release NotesĀ here, as well as our System (Player) Release NotesĀ here.

As with most updates, this will be aĀ Phased Rollout, which means that you may (or may not) get the update pushed to your system straight away. Some iOS users have sidestepped this in the past, by going directly to the App Store. If you still do not see the update, try refreshing the App Store by pulling down (as if you were refreshing a page) on the Account page that shows all your pending app updates.

Ā

In the App update:

Ā

iOS - 80.28.32

Android - 80.28.36

Ā

Sonos Voice Control x Philips Hue SupportĀ

More info below in Player section.

Ā

Play Button

We’ve revamped the Play button on content screens to make it clearer where playback will start and to let you easily change the room or group without leaving the page.

Ā

Android versions 8 & 9 enter limited compatibility

Devices on Android 8 or 9 will soon be unsupportedĀ and will no longer receive updates—please upgrade to Android 10+ to keep enjoying the latest Sonos features. Devices not fully supported will be able to control playbackĀ but will not be able to configure the system.

Ā

Additional changes:

  • Minor UI improvements (Android and iOS)
  • Improvements to TalkBack UX on Home Edit screen
  • Fix-it flow for unbonded Subs

Once you have updated the app, you will beĀ requiredĀ to update the system (Players).

Ā

In the Player update:

Ā

FirmwareĀ -Ā 91.0-68261

Ā

Sonos Voice Control x Philips Hue Support

We're excited to announce that you'll soon be able to use Sonos Voice Control to manage your Philips Hue smart lights and plugs directly from your Sonos speaker.

Simply use your voice to turn lights on/off, dim them, change colours, or activate scenes.

Requirements:

  • A Sonos voice-enabled speaker
  • A Philips Hue Bridge
  • Linked Sonos and Hue accounts

This feature will be available in US-English and French.

See theĀ related Community postĀ here for more information.

Note: After installing this update, Hue integration will not yet be available - the feature is yet to roll out over the coming weeks.

Ā

As always please do not hesitate to share your feedback, we genuinely appreciate it! šŸ™šŸ½

Corry P

Ā

Edit: EmphasisedĀ that Hue feature is not immediately available after updating.

@Corry PĀ I am still not seeing any program art for BBC iPlayer stations... Station artĀ yes but on play no program art is displayed, just the default note icon.Ā This issue only occurs in the app (Android), the windows desktop app, Ikea integration, phonos ect. all present correctly.

Any idea when this will be resolved?

It appears the Hue integration has now been officially released and is available to all.

Yeah! Great! since the last update tracks stop being played with no reason, my library magically turns Ćnvisible, when this occursĀ it is of course impossible to use the pause or play button of the app (or the controller). Does it remind you of last year? It surely does. When is Sonos going to learn????? I have switched off and on the router, the app and God knows what for Sonos to work like 5 - 10 muntes before it all starts over again. I AM FED UP. Music (and Sonos) is meant for entertainment, not for getting increasingly irritated and frustrated and spending hoursĀ  / days / weeks trying to solve issues created by sonos and its (by now) world (in)famous updates?Ā

Still seeing 100%Ā failure rate of Android Trueplay on a brand new Arc Ultra/300/Sub4 surround setup. It just will not work... Hoping this would have been fixed by now?

Try removing the Sub/surrounds, add them back and try Trueplay again. Also check the physical mic switch is enabled on all devices.

Hi @Mr. TĀ ,

Thanks for the suggestions, I had actually already tried and checked this šŸ‘.

I have just got off a call with 2nd line support and there is an occasional issueĀ with the Arc Ultra and Android Trueplay functionality that they are aware of and is being looked at. They found no immediate issues so sets of diagnostics and other information supplied.

Hopefully a fix soon šŸ¤ž

Latest update to the app and it appears I can use ā€œrecently addedā€ in iTunes any more. ReaurhoriEd iTunes and that didn’t fix. Can still browse and play, but can’t use recently added.Ā
