Hello - Got the new Sonos Play speaker - it would be nice to have the battery percentage appear in more places in the app - it’s hard to navigate to find that info.

Can you be specific about where you’d like it to appear? Might help them, if this reaches the level of ‘we should do this’.

@SalC

For quick access I recommend installing Sonos voice control on the speaker. If you just say: „Hey Sonos… what’s the battery?“, you will get the percent exact battery status as the answer.

There seems to be a Play charge percentage shown next to the battery icon, sometimes, if you do just the right thing to get it to appear. Haven't sorted out just what to do yet so mine comes and goes.

Something I see with my Ace but not my Play is the charge level shown on my tablet. I find that really handy on my Ace and would like the Play to appear too.

Edit to add: The Play's % is replaced by the bouncing bars if you play something.

If playing the % is replaced by the bouncing bars. It doesn't come back when the music is paused.

(Ignore the Amazon error, not related to this topic.)

Percentage replacedby bars

@Stanley_4 - when the room view is condensed, the battery % does not show, but will show again when you expand the rooms view.

The developers should have followed how the battery % was shown in the S2 app; on the main settings tab for each applicable room, then in the setting’s room view for each speaker in a stereo pair.

Sometimes it shows up, sometimes it doesn't, portrait and landscape also appear to act differently.

This seems to be a general problem of the Android app or in special with your device. I just can say that the iOS and iPadOS app work like expected. In rooms overview screen the battery status for each Sonos mobile speaker is shown correctly independent of playing or not.
So for me it’s ok, but I also would appreciate the battery status shown in playback screen like it was with old S2 app (if I remember correctly).
