Move 2 overpriced doorstops - useless, time wasting and joy of music killers

Straight out of the box, I have had ongoing issues with these speakers and this is not a comprehensive list!!

  1. Frequent updates required, resulting in speakers not working;

  2. Frequent loss of connectivity, drop outs, etc. resulting in needing to reconnect each time I wish to play music and during music playback;

  3. Speakers not stereo pairing, and never working at the same time when grouped;

  4. Inability to run all speakers at the same time (i.e. the sound bar in a separate room) even when not in stereo / groups;

  5. Latency in volume adjustments (sometimes up to around 30 seconds or more, or not at all);

  6. Latency in music changes, or not at all, and inability to reset the app;

  7. Inability to change music being played as the app would not update to the current playlist / music being played; and

  8. Lack of availability of support, including emailing the CEO, to assist with resolving issues (online / phone support unavailable).  They can’t even call you back when they commit to.

In short, the Move2 speakers do not perform as Sonos represent.  The lack of ability to simply "play music" kills the enjoyment of the moment, and the ongoing issues renders the system useless and these speakers as good as doorstops.  The premium price paid is truly overstated for the lack of utility and performance.  None of the proposed fixes were successful, and the lack of real person support, was underwhelming.  Advice provided that my wifi network was getting interference from other wifi channels is interesting - isn’t the system good enough to deal with this if this is the technology platform on which it operates?

If your App doesn’t work, fix it - there are people out there that do this stuff properly and with integrity.

Useless, waste of time and joy of music killers…

"Brillant sound, your way"??  More like: "No sound, no way"

Every issue you have described points to a network issue. If you have been told there is WIFI interference, find where the interference is coming from and correct it.

The Move 2 is a great speaker and a friend has one on her network with older Play 3s Beam Gen 1 and an Amo gen 2. They all work fine with none of the issues you are describing.

Sonos depends on a reliable network in order to work properly. You can find more information here:

At my main home, I have nine speakers that are mostly wired on a Ubiquiti network. I have had very small issues when the new app was released, but I have none now with what I use the app for.

In a second home, I have four speakers all connected wirelessly. These are on an Optimum screen gateway with a Ubiquiti access point to extend the coverage. Again no issues.

All of the situations above are in single family homes. Sometimes users who live in apartments have the most WIFI interference because there are usually many other WIFI signals being broadcast.

Real person support is available if you call SONOS Support.
