Floor stand for Sonos Play

Sanus makes universal stands that look like they might work with the Play. 

A quick look at Amazon showed a good number of stands, most seemed a bit big.

Puh, I‘m not a fan of these „universal“ products at all. Most of them often don’t really fit well. Regarding the Sonos Play I think it’s a challenge to develop a safe and not that ugly mount. 
So if you found a useful product, a link here would be welcome. 

I think it might be considered odd to have a stand for a portable speaker. At least, that’s what I’m telling myself to explain the lack. On the other hand, I see wall mounts for the Sonos Move (and Move 2) which is unexpected, so perhaps I really don’t know.

It has always seemed like if there was enough of a market to sell into, that space would fill. I’ll keep an eye out for you, but I don’t hold a lot of hope.

I agree that portable speakers is probably not a large market for speaker stands. But that just changed and I think the market will as well. It would be nice to have something to set your portable speakers on when they are being used as surrounds. I think stands will be coming. IMHO

It does make more sense now that Sonos has made ‘portables’ feasible as surrounds, no doubt. I’m just unsure how large the market is for such a thing. Enough to spin up a manufacturing line?

I’d likely make my own out of wood. 

Having a standard sized screw mount would have been nice for folks wanting stands, not sure how the strap screw would do for that.

Having a simple counter stand to get the Play above some food or water splashes would likely sell too. I see a number of short, counter-top Era-300 stands out there. I'm still happy with my @ 1" stands here.

Thank you for your comments. And yes, I totally agree… in the past imho it did not make much sense, or let’s say there was not much need, to put a portable speakers on a floor stand. 
But as said before exactly the new usecase of using a pair of portable speakers as surrounds might change the situation. 
To get best audio experience you aren’t that much flexible with surround speakers as with a single speaker anywhere in your room. 
The need of a good position and hight to your hearing / ears position could be the reason to use a floor stand. 
But of course I‘m not sure how many people will see that usecase and if this will be enough for a profitable market. 
Nervertheless I‘m just interested in this and a fan of speaker floor stands. 😎 I will tell you how the Sonos Play floor stand shown above fits when it has arrived.
