Which TV Panel Should You Purchase: OLED or QLED?

AjTrek1

Hello

I know this community is dedicated to the discussion of Sonos soundbars, speakers, other components and accessories. However, if you are going to spend $999_USD to acquire an Arc Ultra; for the best cinematic sound, shouldn’t the picture quality of your TV compliment that expenditure? 🤔

The links below offer insight into OLED panels vs QLED panels (i.e. the pro’s and con’s). The first link is neutral in content; whereas the second link is somewhat bias. Both links are sponsored; but hopefully you can look pass those indiscretions. 😊

Take a look at the information provided. It may help you make the best decision as to what type of TV panel (regardless of brand) will best meet your personal expectations and viewing environment. Enjoy!

Be sure to spend the appropriate amount for your TV. Cheap TV’s don’t handle motion as well as the more expensiveTV’s. Cheap LCD’s don’t have as many backlight zones.

@Rhayward

You should be delighted with your Sony. Whether the LG C4 is better is purely subjective. The Sony will probably be better for smoother sports, if that’s your thing. And even if you’re comparing side by side (which you’re not) it will be the finest margins as neither Sony nor LG make a bad OLED TV in that price bracket.

I’d just sit back and enjoy your Sony.

One warning from an recent LG C4 owner.  I bought one for our garden room as it was on offer at a great price.

The trouble is that the picture is so good that I can hardly bear to watch the standard LED in my lounge :(  It’s not just a case of True blacks and vibrant colours it is also the lack of blooming in any source.  Even SD source and low res Youtube videos look superb.  It gets mentioned by everyone who visits too.

Now looking for deals for a small 42 OLED!

When researching I found a lot of mention about the brightness, or lack of.  I have not found this an issue in what is a very bright room.
