Sonos beam will not work at all on occasions. When it does work I cannot control the volume. What can I do?

Which volume control? In the app, check for wifi interference , or submit a system diagnostic within 10 minutes of experiencing this problem, and call Sonos Support to discuss it.
If it’s the button control on the device itself, try a power cycle, or the latter half of my suggestion above.

When you unplug the device from the wall for a minute or two, then plug it back in.
