Hi,

I am unable to paid samsung solar remote to my Sonos playbar. I already went to settings on TV and added the remote as universal remote with the Sonos system. But still I cannot control the volume. It seems remote is working on bkuetooth mode and not IR mode. Not sure how to switch to IR mode. Please help.

Kind Regards

Hi @agoeliitb, welcome to the Sonos Community!

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having issues connecting your TV remote to your Playbar.

On Samsung’s webpage, this remote is listed under the One Remote page, so I assume the SolarCell Remote has superseeded the One Remote. The video posted by @jgatie should be the correct steps to swapping to IR mode.

It seems like you have already, but make sure you’ve followed all the steps in our guide for using a Samsung One Remote with Sonos in order. Once you’ve done that, you’ll also need to perform the Remote Control Setup, which is required for products connected via Optical.

If you’ve performed the steps, confirm that the remote swapped and is outputting IR signals. The easiest way to check would be to open your phone camera and point the IR emitter at the lens, then press a button. If you see a flashing light, then it’ll have swapped to IR mode. If the back camera doesn’t work, it could have an IR filter on it, so try the front camera. If the remote doesn’t swap to IR mode after performing the steps in the articles I linked, then I’d suggest reaching out to Samsung for support on this particular remote, as the steps are likely different from the One Remote.

I hope this helps!
