Hey,

First post, so please be gentle…..

So please let me paint the picture…

We just moved into a house with a connect amp and 2 sonance ceiling speakers which i wanted to use as surrounds to the Playbar we mounted under the Samsung Frame TV

Currently, this is wired as follows:

Ethernet to Connect Amp from Router

Ethernet from Connect Amp to Playbar

Fibre optic from Frame TV control box to Playbar.

Current situation is the following:

Playbar works with both TV and streaming music all ok.

Surrounds work but only when streaming music, nothing when watching TV.

I would really appreciate some help with this please.

Thanks, Martin

@Martincheshire

What kind of audio format does Sonos app show when playing tv audio? If there‘s only a stereo signal coming in, the rear speakers often do not play something. In some cases depending on the stereo signal the DSP is able to put some simulated rear signals to the rears, but not every time.
If you can test some DD5.1 Signal you will see, if the rears work as they should do.

I think you’re supposed to run the Ethernet cable from the PLAYBAR to your router, not to your CONNECT:AMP.

PS:

The following document shows the way how the devices have to be wired.

You have to wire the Connect Amp AND Playbar directly to the router.
Or the Playbar and another device…
