Surround Speakers

Have a Beam Gen 2 with SYMFONISK for rear surround speakers. Have the opportunity to switch to Play: 3’s for rear surround speakers. Will there be a significant improvement switching to the 3’s for rear surrounds?

If you are really unhappy with your SYMFONISK I'd save up for Era-100s, they support Atmos with your Beam gen 2.

Not as Surrounds here, but I hear little difference in my Play 1, Play 3 and One SLs to justify replacing one with the other. My ears aren't the best though.

I wouldn’t think so, for several reasons. First, and foremost, there just isn’t traditionally a lot of activity in a surround speaker, such that it needs a spectacular upgrade. Unless you’re also using it for music….but second, the SYMFONISK speakers are significantly newer technology, and I wouldn’t expect that the PLAY:3s to be an upgrade. Much more likely similar, if not slightly (and I do mean slightly) better.

On the other hand, if I were to get another pair of Sonos PLAY:3s, I know exactly what room they’d go into, as a separate Sonos ‘room’.
