surround sound

Hi Everyone,

My surround sound system is not working when tv is first turned on. The work around is to unplug the TV after it has been turned and plug it back and only then the surround sound would work. I have changed HDMI  a couple time, problem persist. Also, I would ensure that the output is set correctly.

The surround sound works fine with music from when using the Sonos app.

I have two Era 300, two subwoofers gen 4, and one arc ultra.

Thanks.

I suggest that you disconnect all HDMI cables from the TV, then power down the TV and ARC for at least two minutes. After the ARC and TV have completed their reboot, reconnect the HDMI between TV and ARC. The TV and ARC will now renegotiate their connection details. Finally, you can reconnect any other connections to the TV.

Usually, this only needs to be done once — however, other CEC devices using their HDMI connection might fight for control. The goal of CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) is to allow, for example, the operator to drop a disc into a player and all of the appropriate devices will power ON and select inputs. Unfortunately, standardization is poor and some devices, particularly AppleTV and game boxes think that they should be in control. You can experiment by systematically connecting devices until you discover the bad actor. While some convenience features might be disabled, this bad actor can be isolated from CEC with a blocker.

Unplug the TV from the soundbar or from electricity?

Make sure you have HDMI-CEC (or Anynet+) turned on in the TV settings.
And the Arc plugged into the HDMI-eARC port.
