Stereo sound option

I'm new to sonos and love the system. I have an arc ultra and two 300s for surround. My issue is that there isn't an option in the app to go from surround to stereo sound easily. I've seen responses to this issue before with people saying to switch to full sound in the app. I agree this helps but the audio still only comes from the top speakers in the 300s. The front drivers don't produce any sound which seems like a waste of the speakers potential. I've gone through the process of unlinking the surrounds and setting them up as a stereo pair and there's a huge difference in sound when all the speakers in the 300s are producing sound. Every speaker system i have ever owned had an option to switch between surround and stereo mode. I'm wondering is this will be considered in an app update or if I'll have to unpair them from surround every time I want to hear music from the front drivers in the 300s. Thank you

It’s been a request essentially since the PLAYBAR and surrounds were released, in 2013. While Sonos usually doesn’t say whether features are coming, it isn’t something I’d be expecting, given the length of time.

Isn’t OP’s question more about the drivers on the Era 300’s being silent when they are set up as surrounds - even when the system is playing stereo and is set to “Full”? This is also a heavily debated topic, but more recently.

I suppose Sonos could have the option to use the front driver on the 300s when used as surrounds.  I would never use that option and I think when some do activate the front driver they will soon find out it sounds better with  the front driver OFF.

As far as creating a quick way to swap between the 300s as surrounds & the 300s as stereo I don’t have much hope.  The process is too slow to make it practical.
