Hi
Welcome to the Sonos Community! And, apologies for the delay.
Sorry to hear of this issue you are having with updating your Sonos Beam.
I just looked up update error code 1106 and found only “REGISTRATION_REQUIRED_NEXT” - this is not something I have encountered before in 6 years!
Please try the following:
If this does not get your Beam updated in a normal fashion, please go to User icon » Sign out then Settings Icon » Manage » Transfer System Ownership and transfer the system to your current Sonos account - this will force the speaker to re-register, meaning the next update attempt may go better.
If this still does not work, I recommend you get in touch with our technical support team who have tools at their disposal that will allow them to give you advice specific to your Sonos system and what it reports.
I hope this helps.
Hi Corey,
I had tried all those suggestions and still no luck. I ended up calling Sonos support and requested a human. She was awesome. At first had me resetting, turn off, turn on too. We didn’t transfer ownership, she had me log into Sonos app on my Mac and everything worked! I am now enjoying my Sonos beam with my new tv.
thanks!
Hi
Good to hear - thanks for updating the thread!
have a Beam sound bar connected to TV. It worked fine for a year. Last week it dropped from the system. The App also dropped it. Tried to reset by unplugging the Beam. The white light flashes but never completes the setup and the App can’t recognize it. the flashing white has sun for 24 hours. if set up can’t complete, what is the next way to reset?
Not sure why you would want to reset it, it sounds like for some reason it lost connection to your network, not that it stopped working. Nor can I make any sense out of the autocorrect ‘has sun for 24 hours’
Normally speaking, I’d recommend a temporary wiring with an Ethernet cable to your router, followed by a simple power cycle of the Beam. Make sure you’ve followed the directions in the factory reset FAQ. You’ll need to set it up as new once you’ve done so.
