My Sonos base and speakers  keeps disconnecting from my Samsung tv 75

Best answer by Rhonny

Sorry, play base and two play one speakers. The play base is connected with an optical cable, which is the only cable that I can use no HDMI is available.

I tried all that I got the TV in December and I was really disappointed when I had to reconnect my Sonos every morning is really annoying.

On top of @Airgetlam‘s additional solid suggestion, what are you doing to reconnect it? (ie what works, as this might help us advise on where the issue is).

Also, I had great success using this for my Playbar previously - it allows you to connect your Playbase to the HDMI-ARC port of your TV (HDMI to extractor, then optical from extractor to Playbase):

You’re in the US so maybe search Amazon or Google for “PROZOR HDMI ARC Audio Extractor 5.1CH – HDMI ARC to Optical SPDIF RCA L/R 3.5mm 2.0CH Audio Converter”.

We need more detail…

Do you mean a Playbase? And surrounds? And sub?

Is this a sudden thing?

Is your Playbase connected to the HDMI-ARC port of the TV?

Have you tried turning off the router and speakers, and then rebooting your router and turning on the speakers?

Is it happening at certain times or with certain content.

That sort of thing.

One additional thing, after @Rhonny ‘s suggestions is to also reboot the TV, by unplugging it from the wall for two minutes. I’d probably also want to check the TV itself for software updates.

Is the TV reverting to the TV speakers or what do you mean by reconnecting Sonos every morning?

Thanks, Rhonny before we reached the community we researched all this that you mentioned I updated the TV, and the play base disconnected for two minutes reconnected, and reset the router too, and nothing still not working. Every time I turn on the TV I have to disable the Samsung speakers and reconnect Sonos again.

Nothing worked I contacted the community as a last resort.

This appears to be more an issue with the Samsung TV not retaining the optical sound output when turned back on.

When you turn the TV off are you just using the power button on the remote or are you physically disconnecting from power so the TV reboots when powered back on?

What devices are connected to the TV’s HDMI inputs? Have you tried disabling the SAMSUNG Anynet?

I agree with Rhonny that the best approach would be the adapter. Set the TV’s audio format for Dolby Digital. PLAYBAR does not support ATMOS.

Or, your Samsung tv keeps disconnecting from your Sonos speakers. What does Samsung say?

Hi,

Update, I went and purchased the adapter and it is working but I encounter another problem.

I can not control the volume with the remote control. I can only mute Sonos I can not control the volume up or down.

Can someone tell me if there's something I have to do with the remote to control Sonos while using the adapter?

Thanks for all your help.

Romina

@Lili be

You should still be able to use the remote.

I would suggest you go through the remote control setup again:

Settings → [room with soundbar] → and under Home Theatre you should see Remote Control Setup.

Try this again now that you have the adapter in place.

@Lili be

As well as that suggestion, also ensure you have connected the adaptor’s HDMI cable to the ARC/eARC-HDMI port on the TV.

Thanks, Rhonny, but the remote control won't work I tried several times to reconnect.

I contacted Samsung and they advised not to use the extractor. Instead, they reset the entire TV back and reconnected it with an optical cable

The remote did not work again but now the speaker stays connected which I'm happy about.

Customer service said that Sonos is very problematic because there is no remote control, but I used the app to connect the remote, and now everything is working correctly.

Thanks for all your advice.
