I just bought a new ARC to replace my PLAYBAR. My LG tv has an AC port but not an EAC port. Will ATMOS work when plugged to the AC port, or do I need to buy a new TV to enjoy ATMOS. All my viewing is done through my new Apple TV. Many thanks for help/advice.

Note that for streaming content, 99% is still in Dolby Digital Plus, which is carried by ARC. it’s only Apple TV and some games and Blu-ray players that require the full eARC connection that you might get with those above devices.
It really depends on where you’re getting your (still small amount of) Atmos content.

Do you mean ARC instead of AC, and EARC instead of EAC? If so, you can get Atmos from Dolby Digital+ from some ARC equipped TV’s, but they have to support Atmos over DD+. DD+ is used by almost all streaming services.

There are quite a few audio extractors these days that will provide Atmos audio to your Sonos Arc. Here are a few links to perhaps help get your research started…
