Hi, I have a question about the Sonos App (on Android).

I’ve hooked up my LG OLED48CX6LB TV to a new Beam Gen 2 Sound Bar via HDMI. I’ve configured all the settings correctly. When I play a Dolby ATMOS test video from Youtube (on the TV) and look at the “whats playing” section of the App, I can see the audio formats change depending on what I’m watching.

My question is when I play a Dolby Atmos test video, it says Dolby Multichannel PCM 2.0, is this correct or should it display the Dolby Atmos logo and say Dolby ATMOS?

Thanks

You can't use YouTube for testing.  Despite the fact they are labeled Atmos, almost all videos on YouTube are downgraded to 2.0 stereo when uploaded.

I have just been in touch with sonos support and they suggested trying it with Disney Plus, did that and its working, the Dolby ATMOS shows up in the app as it should do. Thanks for the answer, you are right, it seems Youtube is no good for testing.

Sometimes a YouTube video has a download file available in Atmos that you can play from a USB drive in a TV or streaming device, but that’s not very convenient.  Better to just play it from a streaming source which has Atmos content.
