Building a basement out and I currently have a arc ultra , sub 4, and two 300s. Main question is the 300s. Not sure where I should plan to have them set up. Both options aren’t ideal I know just looking for advice in best option. Option 1: about 8ft behind couch, probably just over 2ft from ceiling and the left speaker will be pushing sound into an open space.

Option 2. Placing them any distance behind the couch and inverted in the ceiling. Ceiling will only be about 7-7½ ft.
any ideas appreciated also where would best sub placement be?

thank you so much. It’s an open space so can build outlets for them where ever but the layout is concrete so can’t really move walls or sofa much.

Have you considered placing the Eras on stands behind the sofa?
Sub placement will depend on room acoustics and your preference for amount of bass. Small changes can make a big difference. Plug it into a power extension cable and try out different locations - let your ears select the best place.

Yes I currently have them in stands right behind my couch in living room but don’t love when you sit in a corner of couch that it feels like sound is just from that speaker. Also don’t want to use stands in the basement because they will kinda be in the way. Especially with young kids running around.

Where you have the green dots positioned appears to have the 300s facing to the center-line of the room. That would have one set of drivers sending sound along the wall to the front and the other to the rear of the room.

Move them in away from the sides, look at the owner's manuals for positioning guidellines, look for distances from side walls and the direction to face them.

If I stick them on the ceiling I could move them a couple feet off the sidewalls and invert them, probably place them 3 or 4 ft behind the sofa. Would that maintain sound quality?

Sounds like a decent position. Maybe center them on the couch, not the room.

Are you going to try miimize their visibility? The white version or SoundSkin covers could help there.

Subwoofers usually sound best when located near the plain of the the front speakers or soundbar. The exact “best” location depends on the laws of physics.

I will have some bar seating opposite couch. So inverted on the ceiling maybe 2 or 3 feet off each wall? Not worried about hiding them. I do have the black ones but think they look great.
