I’ve inherited a Sonos system in a new(old) house and trying to get it to work. I have managed to get the amp working with speakers in two rooms but having no luck setting up a surround sound system in my tv room. The playbar connects ok to the tv and I have sound from it. However, the two Play 1’s in the TV room (different room from where I’m using the amp and other speakers) won’t work and I’m getting the message - Connection - ‘An Ethernet cable, wired to your router, is required to allow WiFi to be disabled,’

Since my playbar and tv are far removed from the router, this is pretty impractical

What am I doing wrong and how do I fix it ?

Check each speaker in your controller and ensure that the WiFi (which is all radio, not just WiFi) is turned on. You may need to temporarily wire all speakers to your router to do so, since you ‘inherited’ this system. It may be easier to move each speaker temporarily so it’s within reach of an Ethernet cable, it should be able to be moved back after the process.

Thanks Bruce, I’ll give this a try tomorrow
